Making social impact.

We believe everyone deserves a path to financial stability, security and growth. We’re committed to reducing barriers to economic mobility and fostering financial and social inclusion by providing charitable grants and sponsorships in the Charlotte, NC and Detroit, MI communities.

Charitable grants to grow your mission.

The Ally Charitable Foundation strives to uplift economically underserved communities. Our charitable grants help elevate nonprofit organizations that work in affordable housing, financial education and workforce development. Recipients are required to report progress on their initiatives. The grant application submission period is March 1, 2026 - March 31, 2026 (11:59 pm EST).

Sponsorships to strengthen communities.

Ally Financial sponsorships support community service initiatives that drive economic mobility, social equity and inclusion. We accept applications for sponsorships on a rolling basis.

Apply for an Ally Charitable Foundation grant.

To apply for a grant, a nonprofit will need to meet the following criteria:

Application guidelines.

The 2025 Ally Charitable Grant cycle is closed. Submissions reopen in 2026. You’ll need to submit your application on time to be considered for funding. Your grant proposal will need to meet the specified requirements.

Evaluation and review.

The application process takes about 12 weeks, and we’ll notify you of our decision by email. Organizations that receive a grant must submit a report detailing the program’s impact to the community within 30 days of the program’s completion.

Apply for an Ally Financial sponsorship.

To apply for a sponsorship, a nonprofit will need to meet the following criteria:

Application evaluation process.

We accept sponsorship requests on a rolling basis. You should submit requests at least 10 weeks before your event. The evaluation process takes about 10 weeks, and we’ll notify you of our decision by email.

Please allow up to 12 weeks after the deadline for us to review applications. Once reviewed, we’ll notify your organization.

Sure. Your organization can reapply during the next grant cycle period.

The full sponsorship application process is approximately 8-10 weeks. All organizations will receive a formal notification once their sponsorship applications have been decisioned.

We award one grant and one sponsorship to each approved organization, each calendar year. Your organization can apply for both, but keep in mind, you’ll need to complete separate applications to be considered.

Your organization needs to have an approved status at the time of application for an Ally grant or sponsorship.
