Farrar Vaughan is one of a select group of 49 dealer nominees from across the country who will be honored at the 108th annual National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Show in New Orleans, Louisiana, on January 25, 2025.

The TIME Dealer of the Year award is one of the automobile industry’s most prestigious and highly coveted honors. The award recognizes the nation’s most successful auto dealers who also demonstrate a long-standing commitment to community service. Vaughan was chosen to represent the Tennessee Automotive Association in the national competition — one of only 49 auto dealers nominated for the 56th annual award from more than 20,000 nationwide.

“We have a long family history of operating dealerships in the Memphis, Tennessee, area, dating back more than 100 years,” nominee Vaughan said. “Our dedicated leadership, our loyal employees, and our focus on a positive family culture continue to provide us with a steady stream of new and repeat customers.”

Vaughan attended Mississippi State University in Starkville and joined Jaguar Land Rover Bluff City in 1998. The store was completely rebuilt in 2008 and remodeled in 2019.

“We are constantly looking for ways to improve and serve our customers, and we have found that our continued focus on employees is the best and most effective way to adjust to any market changes and future challenges,” she said.

Among serving on a variety of civic boards including the Greater Memphis Automobile Dealers Association, Vaughan also serves on the Tennessee Motor Vehicle Commission.

“The most fulfilling aspect of my career has been staying involved in my community and the state of Tennessee,” she said. “I continue to remain active with NADA's efforts in Washington, D.C., to represent the dealer community on issues that affect our business. It has truly been an honor to serve the industry.”

Vaughan has spent countless hours serving on the Board of Webb School in Bell Buckle, Tennessee. She is currently chair of the board of trustees for Webb School where she attended high school.

“The Webb School is dedicated to producing lifelong learners and hardworking individuals, and it played a significant role in shaping me into the person who I am today,” she said. “My work for the school has been a labor of love.”

She also supports St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which is in her hometown of Memphis, and is a proud member of the Ladies of St. Jude, a team of volunteers that are committed to fundraising projects to further the hospital’s groundbreaking research and world-class care.

In addition, Vaughan is a board member of the William R. Moore College of Technology (Moore Tech), also located in Memphis, which is one of the nation’s oldest vocational institutions and offers a comprehensive Automotive Service Technology program.

Dealers are nominated by the executives of state and metro dealer associations around the country. A panel of faculty members from the Tauber Institute for Global Operations at the University of Michigan will select one finalist from each of the four NADA regions and one national Dealer of the Year. Three finalists will receive $5,000 for their favorite charities and the winner will receive $10,000 to give to charity, donated by Ally.

In its 14th year as exclusive sponsor, Ally also will recognize dealer nominees and their community efforts by contributing $1,000 to each nominee’s 501(c)3 charity of choice. Nominees will be recognized on ally.com/go/tdoy , which highlights the philanthropic contributions and achievements of TIME Dealer of the Year nominees.

“At TIME, our commitment to recognizing the exceptional contributions of automotive dealers remains as strong as ever,” said Jessica Sibley, CEO of TIME. “The TIME Dealer of the Year award continues to celebrate those who not only excel in their profession but also make a meaningful impact in their communities. We are thrilled to continue this legacy in partnership with Ally.”

Doug Timmerman, Ally president of Dealer Financial Services, said, “Auto dealers are the backbones of their communities, providing civic support and significant business leadership. Ally is proud to recognize the unwavering commitment these TIME Dealer of the Year nominees are living every day through their volunteerism, sponsorships, and support of charitable causes. They are the epitome of community heroes, making important and positive impacts in the lives of the people they serve.”

Vaughan was nominated for the TIME Dealer of the Year award by Tim Slattery, president of the Tennessee Automotive Association. Vaughan and her husband, Rob, have two children.
