ATMs Withdrawals FAQs
FAQs
-
You won't see an Ally Bank ATM, but you can use your debit card at any ATM worldwide.

Because the Savings Account is part of your IRA with Ally, you’ll need to request a distribution. You can either log in to online banking and complete the distribution request, call us 24/7 at 877-247-2559 , or complete and mail in the Distribution Form .
Keep in mind, we limit certain types of withdrawals and transfers from Savings Accounts to 10 per statement cycle.
There’s no fee for excessive transactions, but we’ll close your account if you exceed the limit on more than an occasional basis.

We have two fee-free services to protect your Spending Account from overdrafts: Overdraft Transfer Service and CoverDraft℠ service. Use one or the other, or use them both together for an additional line of defense.
Overdraft Transfer Service
If you set up Overdraft Transfer Service and have sufficient funds in your linked savings or money market account to cover the transaction, we automatically transfer the funds to your Spending Account in increments of $100.
If you didn't set up Overdraft Transfer Service, your transaction may be declined, or we may pay the transaction and overdraw your account, but we won't charge an overdraft fee.
CoverDraft Service
CoverDraft service acts as an overdraft safety net, providing up to $100 in temporary fee-free relief for some of your most common transactions, should you accidentally overspend. We notify you if any overdrafts occur, and you have 14 calendar days to bring your balance out of the negative and avoid having withdrawals restricted from your account.
Keep in mind, CoverDraft isn't a line of credit. We can end our CoverDraft service or suspend your right to use it at any time. We pay overdrafts at our discretion, and we don’t guarantee coverage. We'll decline your transaction if we don't cover it.
Both Services Together
When using both services together, we first move money in $100 increments from your linked account using Overdraft Transfer Service. If that’s not enough, the CoverDraft service may kick in with up to $100 in additional coverage.

We have two fee-free services to protect your account from overdrafts: Overdraft Transfer Service and CoverDraft℠ service. Use one or the other, or use them both together for an additional line of defense.
Sign up for Overdraft Transfer Service by choosing your account, then selecting Overdraft Transfer Service from account details. From there, you can link your Ally Bank Spending Account to a Savings or Money Market Account with us.
There's no signup needed for CoverDraft—in most cases, you'll qualify 30 days after your account has been funded with at least $100, through any combination of deposits.
