If and what type of tax form you receive depends on your situation.
1099-INT
You'll receive a 1099-INT if you're the primary account holder and the total interest paid on all of your accounts during the previous year was at least $10 (includes closed accounts), you had backup withholding, or made an early withdrawal from your CD before the maturity date. You could also receive a 1099-INT under $10 if the same Tax Identification Number was used to report interest on a single account, joint account, or an account opened in the name of a Trust.
Depending on your paperless settings, you’ll receive your 1099-INT online or by mail. 1099-INTs are mailed by January 31 and should be delivered within 2 weeks. They're available online by January 31 and accessible for 7 years.
Tax forms for accounts in the name of a Trust are only available by mail.1099-R
We send a 1099-R if you received a distribution of at least $10 from your IRA during the previous year.Depending on your paperless settings in online banking, you’ll receive a 1099-R online or by mail. 1099-Rs are mailed to the IRA account holder by January 31 and should be delivered within 2 weeks. They're available online by January 31 and accessible for 7 years.
1099-MISC
You'll receive this document if you had at least $600 in miscellaneous income from Ally Bank. Miscellaneous income includes the combined total of ATM fee reimbursements, cash, or cash equivalents (like a gift card). We’ll mail the 1099-MISC to the primary account holder’s mailing address by January 31st. It should be delivered within 2 weeks.5498
5498 tax forms are sent out yearly to reflect contributions made to your IRAs, its fair market value, and required minimum distribution information.Depending on your paperless settings, you’ll receive a 5498 online or by mail. 5498s are mailed by May 31 and should be delivered within 2 weeks. They're available online by May 31 and accessible for 7 years.

To view your tax forms, log in, and select Tax Forms. Choose the form you wish to access, and it will automatically download to your computer as a .PDF file.
To print the form after downloading, locate the file on your computer (either in your computer’s Downloads folder, or in your browser’s Downloads menu), open the .PDF file, and select the “Printer” icon in the .PDF file's toolbar.
Tax forms are accessible as far back as seven years. Only primary account owners are able to access tax forms online. Forms for accounts titled in the name of trust, custodial (UTMA/UGMA), estate, guardianship, or representative payee are not available online, and will be mailed.

Tax forms for accounts held in the name of a Trust aren't available online at this time.

Paperless setting: Online only
Log in and select Profile and Settings, then Statements and Tax Forms. We've also created a shortcut during tax season, so you can choose Tax Forms right from your Snapshot.If you’re using our mobile app: log in, select Tasks, then Statements and Tax forms.
Forms are available online for 7 years, and if your paperless setting is online only, then you won’t receive this document by mail.
Paperless setting: Paper and online

We mail account statements to the address on file for the Trust. Trustees can also log in to ally.com from their computer to view account details.
