Once you've made your final payment, your home loan will be marked as paid in full. It could take up to 10 days for this to happen.
Once it does, a few things will take place behind the scenes. We'll send the necessary documents to your county so they can record the satisfaction of the loan. Then, allow up to 90 days for the lien to be released and for the paid principal to be reflected on your credit.
If you're enrolled in Autopay, you'll want to cancel it. To do so, log in and select Manage Account from your Snapshot. Then, select Payments and choose Modify Settings on the Autopay tile. The edit screen will display and at the bottom of the edit box will be the option to Unenroll from Autopay.
And finally, if you have any remaining funds in your escrow account, it'll be returned to you once property tax and homeowners insurance are paid through the remainder of your loan. Allow up to 30 days once your loan is paid for the check to arrive. If applicable, make sure your mailing address is updated if you're planning to move.

A payoff statement is a document outlining all the charges associated with closing out your home loan. In addition to the remaining principal and interest, other charges can include county recording fees, unpaid fees accrued through the life of the loan, or attorney fees. It's required to have a payoff statement to fully close out your loan.
